Camping during COVID-19

.

We truly appreciate your patience during this time as we navigate what our operations will look like during Covid-19. We are following all Manitoba Public Health regulations as well as the recommendations made by MACAP (Manitoba Association of Campgrounds and Parks) to ensure that we are keeping our staff and customers safe.

These are the steps we are taking:

  • The office will remain closed to the public. This is to ensure that we have limited touch points. We will be operating using the sliding window under the canopy. We ask that you adhere to all social distancing guidelines while waiting your turn. Wood sales and propane exchange will also be handled through the sliding window. The mini-golf will remain closed at this time.
  • We will be operating a cashless system. Only debit, credit and cheques will be accepted. We are encouraging you to limit contact with staff and call the office during operating hours to pay over the phone if it is an option for you.
  • Our public washrooms and laundry facilities will remain closed.
  • We will not be doing garbage pickup, we will provide dumpsters for you to use within the campground and we ask that you ensure that all bags are placed in the dumpsters to prevent our staff from having to handle any refuse.
  • Please do not approach the outside staff. Requests and inquiries can be made through the campground office.
  • Social distancing and all Manitoba Public Health regulations MUST be adhered to at all times within the campground.
  • We will maintain one point of entry. The gate in the Meadow will remain closed and the main entrance must be used.
  • There will be no un-registered guests within the campground.
  • Our staff have increased sanitization and disinfection protocols, all services will be disinfected before and after customer use.
  • If a camper or any member of their family should show symptoms of fever, cough and have difficulty with breathing, they should seek medical care and return home and not enter the campground for two weeks.
  • As the news regarding COVID-19 changes every day, these proposed measures will be made subject to immediate change or removal as advised by Manitoba’s public health officer.
  • We currently have no campground restrictions about out of province guests. However, if you are from out of province you must contact Manitoba Public Health about any restrictions you may be subject to.

These rules and restrictions are in place to ensure that we are operating as safely as possible for guests and staff, complying with mandated rules and regulations for operation, and limiting the spread of COVID-19. Failure to comply with Oak Island Resorts’ policies, or the policies outlined by the Manitoba Government will result in forfeiture of site, without refund.
